These redpipe models are stuffed with filling material.The bourdons/drones, the chanter and the overblowing function are pneumatically controlled by pressing the bag. The amount of pressure, which is necessary to get the instrument going is adjustable to individual needs. So, the instrument can be played without applying a lot of pressure to the bag.

The bag has to be filled with air over the blowpipe, just as with traditional bagpipes. The air disappears through
a built-in valve, which leads to a rather realistic rhythm of playing. The blowing effort, which is necessary to play the instrument is customizable. So, it is up to the player to decide, which level of comfort he’d like to have.

Depending on the model, specific show drones are implemented for a better look and feel. The redpipe french has an additional second thumb hole to allow french fingering. The littfle finger hole of the chanter is turnable to support fingertips playing. This chanter solution supports lefthanded players as well.

All the redpipe models allow to combine various fingerings with various sounds. The possibility to switch between well tempered and just scale offers a lot of advantages for studio recordings.

The Midi-Out provides signals for external sound generators and computers. Based on this capability, other sounds and instruments can be presented using the redpipe. The analog signal providing the redpipe samples is available in parallel.
